Lab Access and Fees

Lab fees collected throughout the year go directly to improving the facilities and equipment within the Photography Department. This includes everything from supplying consumables such as ink and chemistry, to maintaining and repairing existing equipment as well as purchasing new equipment for the department.

Students enrolled in undergraduate Photography courses are required to pay lab fees in order to use departmental equipment and facilities. The list below outlines each lab fee/associated access and which courses have that fee included upon registration. The Basic fee is only charged once per semester regardless of how many courses require it. All other fees are cumulative based on each individual student’s schedule. If you are taking Photography courses and have the need for additional equipment and facilities beyond the coverage of the required fees, you may sign up for additional lab access by filling out the Pratt Photography Department Additional Lab Access - Spring 2024 form linked below. Please note that when the Non-Silver fee is required through taking PHOT 415 or PHOT 416 this includes chemistry. Access to the non-silver darkroom through the Basic fee requires a prerequisite of PHOT 415 and does not include chemistry.
