Equipment 









The Pratt Photography Department has a wide variety of equipment available for check out.  This includes, but is not limited to, film cameras ranging from 35mm through 8x10in, full frame and medium format digital cameras from Nikon, Sony, Hasselblad, and Fuji, continuous and strobe lighting equipment from Profoto, Generay, and Dracast, audio equipment from Tascam, Sennheiser, and Rode, as well as numerous accessories such as tripods, light meters, color checkers, and much more.  Please see the link below for a guide to our full catalog of equipment.

In order to use the Photography Department’s equipment you must be a Photography Major, Minor, or currently enrolled in a course.  You must also first agree to and submit the Equipment and Facilities Use Agreement.  This form can be found at the link below.

Reservations
Equipment can be reserved online using the equipment reservation form.  Download the PDF from the link below, fill in the information required at the top of the form, and check off any equipment you would like to reserve.  Please remember to include a half hour time frame that you are available to pickup on the top of the form.  This completed form should then be emailed to techoffice@pratt.edu for review and approval.  Reservations will be reviewed Monday - Thursday, 10am - 6pm and Friday, 10am - 4pm.  If you submit a reservation outside of these working hours, you will receive a response the next working day. If adjustments need to be made the Tech Office will reply with suggestions for adjustments.

Reservations may be placed up to 7 days prior to the scheduled pickup date.

For faculty requiring bulk reservations for face to face demonstrations or work sessions, an equipment reservation form must be submitted no later than 3 weeks prior to the date needed to ensure all requested equipment will be available.

Pick Up
Equipment pickup will be scheduled no sooner than the next working day once a reservation is confirmed and is available Monday - Thursday, 10am - 6pm and Friday, 10am - 4pm.  There is no equipment pickup on the weekends. Equipment can be picked up in person at the your designnated pickup time at the Tech Office (room B-07).  If equipment is not picked up during the scheduled time period, the reserved equipment will become available on the next working day.

Check Out Period and Return
Equipment check out periods are 7 days from the date of pick up.  Contained within your reservation confirmation email will be the date and time period the equipment is due back to the Tech Office.  Upon return, all equipment will be inspected and if damage or missing items are found, you will be notified via email.

Equipment Penalty Policy
  • The first occurrence will incur a warning. 
  • A second occurrence results in a one week suspension of equipment checkout.
  • For each subsequent occurrence during a semester, another week long equipment checkout suspension in addition a $20 late fee will be incurred. 

Equipment Check-Out Extensions
If you would like an additional 7 days using the equipment currently checked out to you, you may email techoffice@pratt.edu and request an extension. This email needs to be received no later than 24 hours prior to the equipment return time. If approved, you may keep the equipment for an additional 7 days without needing to return to the Tech Office.
