Equipment 









The Pratt Photography Department has a wide variety of equipment available for check out. This includes, but is not limited to, film cameras ranging from 35mm through 8x10in, full frame and medium format digital cameras from Nikon, Sony, Hasselblad, and Fuji, continuous and strobe lighting equipment from Profoto, Generay, and Dracast, audio equipment from Tascam, Sennheiser, and Rode, as well as numerous accessories such as tripods, light meters, color checkers, and much more. In order to use the Photography Department’s equipment you must first agree to and submit the Equipment and Facilities Use Agreement. This form can be found at the link below.

Reservations
Equipment must be reserved online, using the online equipment reservation form. Download the PDF from the link below, fill in the information required at the top of the form, and check off any equipment you would like to reserve. Please remember to include a half hour time frame that you are available to pickup on the top of the form. This completed form should then be emailed to techoffice@pratt.edu for review and approval. Reservations will be reviewed Monday - Thursday, 9am - 7pm and Friday, 9am - 4pm. During these times you will hear back from the Tech Office within 2 working hours confirming your reservation or indicating that adjustments need to be made. If you submit a reservation outside of these working hours, you will receive a response the next working day. If adjustments need to be made the Tech Office will reply with suggestions for adjustments (i.e. if requested equipment isn’t available, or a suggestion for a different piece of equipment) and if these are acceptable then the reservation will be confirmed. Reservations may be placed up to 7 days prior to the scheduled pickup date. For faculty requiring bulk reservations for face to face demonstrations or work sessions, an equipment reservation form must be submitted no later than 3 weeks prior to the date needed to ensure all requested equipment will be available.

REMEMBER:

 - Equipment reservations are reviewed Monday - Thursday, 9am - 7pm and Friday, 9am - 4pm. Not on weekends or evenings.
 - Pick up date must be at least 1 working day after the reservation date. Weekends are not included.
 - All equipment must be returned before placing another reservation.
 - If you would like an extension, you must email the Tech Office before the day the equipment is due.

Pick Up
Equipment pickup will be scheduled no sooner than the next working day once a reservation is confirmed and is available Monday - Thursday, 9am - 7pm and Friday, 9am - 4pm. There is no equipment pickup on the weekends. Equipment can be picked up in person at the designated pickup location and time just outside the Tech Office (room B-07). Appropriate PPE will be required for pick up. If equipment is not picked up during the scheduled time period, the reserved equipment will become available on the next working day.

Check Out Period and Return
Equipment check out periods have been extended to 7 days from the date of pick up. Contained within your reservation confirmation email will be the date and time period the equipment is due back to the Tech Office. Upon return, all equipment will be quarantined and not available for reservation for 72 hours. After the quarantine period, all equipment will be inspected and if damage or missing items are found, you will be notified via email. Equipment check out extensions are also available. If you would like an additional 7 days using the equipment currently checked out to you, you may email techoffice@pratt.edu and request an extension. This email needs to be received no later than 24 hours prior to the equipment return time. If approved, you may keep the equipment for an additional 7 days without needing to return to the Tech Office. A total of 2 extensions can be requested for a given reservation.

In order to provide as much service as possible, we have set up a Tech Office Service Kiosk in front of the Tech Office checkout counter (room B-07). When you arrive at the Tech Office to pick up equipment, drop off equipment, or are in need of assistance, simply swipe your Pratt ID at the kiosk and follow the on-screen prompts. This is especially important to do when dropping off equipment so that we know it has been returned and we can attend to it.

Cleaning
The cleaning of equipment between check out periods will be done primarily through quarantine. Upon return, all equipment will be placed in quarantine for 72 hours. After this is complete, the equipment will be cleared to be placed back in general storage and will be available for reservation.
