Technical Assistance

If you are in need of technical assistance with anything regarding the labs, facilities, or equipment, there are several ways in which you can seek help from a technician. Please see the descriptions below for details.

Quick Question
If you are on campus and using the Photography facilities and have a brief question that you would like to ask a technician, but don’t see anyone immediately, please feel free to use the Tech Office Service Kiosk just outside of the Tech Office in room B-07. This is the best way to let technical staff know that you are here and have a quick question. After swiping your Pratt ID and selecting technical assistance from the menu, a technician will be out shortly to assist you. Along with this, you can always email techoffice@pratt.edu and we are happy to answer your question via email.

Virtual Technician
Our technical staff is happy to meet with students, faculty, or staff via Zoom any time Monday - Thursday from 10am - 7pm and Friday from 10am - 4pm. Please feel free to email techoffice@pratt.edu to set up a remote appointment. Virtual appointments are great to discuss things in more depth that do not require physical interaction with equipment in the labs.

Tech 1 on 1 Session - Available starting 2/1/21
Our technical staff is available for scheduled 1 on 1 in-person sessions to review specific pieces of equipment or procedures with students, faculty, or staff. All of our standard sessions are outlined below and we also offer opportunities for custom 1 on 1 sessions covering topics outside of our standard sessions.

Each session is approximately 30 minutes long and is not meant to replace in-class learning. Our hope is that these sessions will prove helpful as reminders and reinforcement of information obtained in class as well as a way to introduce students to working in the labs and facilities outside of class time. It is also an opportunity to discuss with our technical staff subjects that may fall outside of your coursework, but you have an interest in and would like to know more about.

In order to request a 1 on 1 session with a technician, please fill out the form linked below. The request will then be reviewed and, if approved, you will receive a confirmation email regarding the session within 24 hours of the request. Tech 1 on 1 sessions will be scheduled no earlier than 24 hours after the request is received.
